CIBERIDEA CIEC ETHOS FIP IDEA IMT LECC MJAE NEPCOM N-IMAGEM PEIC PEIC RESEARCH GROUP IN POLICIES AND POLITICAL ECONOMY OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION Formed in 1995, PEIC seeks to integrate research, extension, and teaching with the purpose of contributing to the production, circulation, and socialization of knowledge as well as to build bridges of collaboration between distinct social actors dedicated to critical research and to the democratization of communications. PIEC is dedicated to the universes of communication policies, under the bias of the Political Economy of Communication, especially new communication technologies and electronic mass communication. The results of the research have repercussions in theses and dissertations, scientific articles, courses, talks, lectures, and papers by its researchers in national and international journals, books, and events. In this production is highlighted the interinstitutional nature of the group – gathering researchers from different institutions – whose close intellectual exchange is translated into works of collective authorship that compose a large part of the scientific production.
